These wonderful color facsimiles of horse breeds by Emil Volkers are two true gems. Emil Volkers was a famous 19th-century horse painter. His paintings impress with a scientific precision that was unusual for his time.

Horse Breeds I and Horse Breeds II were originally created as chromolithographs around 1897. This printing technique is particularly complex and rewards the viewer with an unparalleled level of color and brilliance.

The facsimiles are produced in 8-color giclee prints on 230g special paper. The sheet size is 42 x 30 cm.

The Horse Breeds I sheet shows Arabian Thoroughbred, English Thoroughbred, English Half-Bred, Hungarian Horse, Norfolk and Shetland Pony.

The sheet Horse Breeds II shows Old Neapolitan, Belgian Horse, Oldenburg, Pinzgauer, Clydesdale and Swedish Pony.
