Modern color etching "Horse"

What immediately captivated me about this image was its intensity of color. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to accurately capture these colors in a photograph. The horse is a deep rust red, the sky above the image a gray-blue. One could imagine thick rain clouds. The meadow in the foreground is lush green with bright yellow flowers. Behind the fence in the background, the corn is already knee-high.

The painting reminds me a lot of my childhood with my grandparents on the Lower Rhine. The artist Reimer Riediger was born in Elmshorn in 1942 and died in Sörup in 1991. His motifs include many maritime themes, as well as landscapes and farm animals.

What's particularly striking is that the painting is round, a favorite stylistic device of the artist. I had it framed in an almost square frame (55.5 cm x 56 cm) with an equally square mat. The frame is pale gray-blue, matching the color of the painting.
